The Doctor Will See You Now Pt 2: The Morgue – Hourglass Escapes – Downham Market
If playing an Escape Room is like being a character in your own movie, then it is surprising that there are so few Escape Room sequels around. So it was fascinating to join Hourglass to continue their story about a missing mate and a (potentially) murderous medic, even if it did mean another trip to a morgue. Mobbery – Agent Brains – Letchworth
Delighted to return to Letchworth and the thoroughly entertaining world of Dr Nogood and Agent Brains. For the first part of our double-header, find out how we got on as white-hat thieves in the heist game Mobbery here…
When In Vegas – Hourglass Escapes – Downham Market
One of our favourite venues, a 70 minute game, and a twist on a casino theme – that’s a nice Escape Room hand to be dealt. Find out if struck it lucky by reading more here…
Outfitters – Hatton Escape Rooms – Warwickshire
A trip back to 1920s Chicago, via a Warwickshire country park, on Christmas Eve. We’ve done weirder things, but this was a very classy bit of time travel. Find out how we got on here….
Elfy Is Missing – The Escape Goat – Dover
It is now December, so I’m perfectly justified in spamming with a batch of wonderful Christmas room reviews, starting off with this hilarious and joyous Midwinter Murders-type mystery from the absolutely bananas team at The Escape Goat in Kent. Read more about how we got on here…
House of Evidence – Fakenham Escape Rooms – Fakenham
After our previous recent (non-scripted) disaster in a bowling alley (I’m looking at you, Houdini’s), I’m thrilled to report that our latest trip to a world of skittles and strikes went much better. An independent, family-run entertainment centre in deepest Norfolk, this game had all the heart and brain that we were looking for, and it was huge amounts of fun. Read more about how we got on here…
The Bank Heist – Clued Up! – Norwich
Initiating some rookies into our occasional life of crime, we heisted a bank on a wet January Sunday, this time in Norwich. As an aside, can venues start coming up with more original name for bank heists, rather than just The Bank Heist? Please and thank you. If you are stuck, give me a shout and I’ll come up with something more creative for you. But that’s fairly irrelevant for now – to read our review of the game (as opposed to the name) click here…
Heist – Thinking Outside The Box – Peterborough
Disclaimer 1: this room isn’t really in Peterborough. Whittlesey is a very nice little market town on the outskirts of Peterborough. It just has a very low recognition rate, possibly because they can’t seem to decide whether to spell it Whittlesey or Whittlesea, so it seemed easier to classify it as Peterborough.
Disclaimer 2: the venue isn’t really Thinking Outside The Box, but instead The Old Coffee Tavern, a lovely cafe that hosts board games sessions.
The good news: this is definitely, absolutely, categorically, a heist.
The Doctor Will See You Now – Hourglass Escapes – Downham Market
Fun road trip to play two games with the lovely people at Hourglass Escapes. Someone may or may not have been trying to kill us, but at least we got free chocolate… Read more here…
